Since 1860, the Thériault family has been in the thanatologist profession. It’s the story of 5 generations that were able to adapt to many changes, such as home expositions, horse hearses, the beginnings of embalming, the firsts funeral homes, motorized vehicules, pre-arrangements, quick arrangements, columbarium, etc.

Serre & Finnegan Funeral Home takes possession of the funeral home in November 2021

The death of Mr. Michel Thériault, a recognized and beloved funeral director serving the families of Mercier and its surroundings, led to a change in management of the Michel Thériault funeral home by a new administration.

Having worked in collaboration with Mr. Thériault on several occasions over the past few years, this is how on November 1st 2021, the reins of the company were officially taken over by Mr. Steve Finnegan, a passionate thanatologist with almost 20 years of experience. Also owner of the Serre & Finnegan funeral homes since 2011, Mr. Finnegan and his team will continue to serve the families of Mercier and the surrounding area by always having at heart the same values of help, listening and empathy advocated by Mr. Thériault throughout the last few years. The vocation of Mr. Finnegan is also to offer a service beyond your expectations, by focusing on the greatest respect, the greatest dignity and the bond of trust established with the families.
